Here’s how it is:
I’ve had a lot of different jobs in a lot of different cities. I’ve called Colorado, Oklahoma, Boston, and New Zealand home. These days, I’m back in the Muscogee Nation, also known as Tulsa, and I’m here to stay.
While my ties to my tribe’s land here in Indian Country run all the way back to my family’s journey on the Trail of Tears, it’s still hard to live and work here sometimes. Our policies are often regressive and harmful, and it can feel like every time we take a step forward that we’re pushed ten steps back. This why I pursued my Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from Colorado College and my Master’s in Social Justice form Phillips Theological Seminary.
I have been deeply moved by experiencing the movements that have been birthed and sustained within my communities. I’ve truly learned from the best, and it’s my duty to put that back into the world.
I put my heart into doing work at the intersection of what I enjoy and what our communities need. Given the great need of this world and the vast beauty of humanity, this hasn’t proven to be a difficult endeavor.
I truly appreciate you for taking the time to learn more about me. If you feel like we should be in community with one another, or even would just like to say hi, then I hope you’ll reach out!
Mvto (thank you).
