Proposal Writing: Resource-building for social good

In one way or another, I’ve spent the past nine years working for wealth redistribution.

In particular, grant-writing has honed my skills in big, significant ways- and not just in the way of saying, “Hi, this is who we are, this is what we do, and this is what we’d like money for”.

Nope.

When I write for funding, I’m sending both a wish and a demand into the universe. This is because philanthropy is often exploitative and steeped in white supremacy. I’ve been working to disrupt that by getting resources into the hands of people who are truly healing themselves and their communities.

Here are two (redacted) examples of questions from funders that I’ve written answers for in the recent past.

Here’s another that’s more tangible.
